M. Husni Thamrin is the Founding Partner of Thamrin & Rachman, and member of Capital Markets Legal Consultants Association (Himpunan Konsultan Hukum Pasar Modal).  Mr. Thamrin’s practice includes capital markets transactions, general corporate, corporate finance and secured transactions (domestic and international), investments (including foreign and domestic investments), banking, energy and power, oil and gas, mining, property and real estate transactions, corporate reorganization (including merger, acquisition and consolidation) and privatization.

Practising extensively in the corporate and commercial area of law, Mr. Thamrin has developed considerable expertise in Corporate Finance and Secured Transactions, Corporate Reorganization (including Merger, Acquisition and Consolidation), Oil & Gas, and Privatization.  In addition, he provides advice on an on-going basis to a large number of private and public companies and also to State-owned Enterprises, such as PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur Tbk, PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja (Persero) and PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda, with respect to various transactions including EPC Contracts, Off-take Agreements, etc.

Prior to establishing Thamrin & Rachman in 1996, Mr. Thamrin began his legal career as associate in O.C. Kaligis & Associates Law Firm (1989 – 1990), Makarim & Taira S. Law Firm (1990 – 1993), Lubis, Ganie, Surowidjojo Law Firm (1993 – 1996).

Iswira Laksana is a partner of Thamrin & Rachman and member of Capital Markets Legal Consultants Association (Himpunan Konsultan Hukum Pasar Modal) and Indonesian Receivers and Administrators Association (Asosiasi Kurator dan Pengurus Indonesia).  Mr. Laksana’s practice includes corporate financings, through global offerings of debts and equity securities, as well as privatizations, mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructurings.  

Prior to joining Thamrin & Rachman in 2002, Mr. Laksana was an associate in Makarim & Taira S. Law Firm (1991 – 1993), partner of Makes & Partners Law Firm (1993 – 1997), and partner of Faisal & Panggabean Law Firm (1998 – 2002). During the course of his career, Mr. Laksana has participated in a leadership role in over 50 securities offerings which has afforded him particular knowledge of a variety of industries including multi-finance, television, banking, oil & gas, power plant, infrastructure, mining, wholesale and retails.  Mr. Laksana’s transactional experience includes assignments involving virtually every type of security typically employed in raising capital such as senior and subordinated bonds, debenture and notes, convertible debt securities, debts securities of an issuer exchangeable for equity securities of a different issuer, medium-term note programs, warrants, rights offerings, stock option plans, and common stocks and ordinary shares.
